Cris: “The big one I use a lot is.. TRIO has this program where you go online and get online tutors, I mostly use that.”
Jasmine: “We had a space in Milledge Hall kind of given to us, where we could go there and study and do different things. Freshman year we had a grand opening for that, that was a big thing I remember that we had a special location for us."
Jasmine: “They had these programs, it would be kind of like a workshop where we would learn about budgeting or have people come in from FASFA where they would walk through with us step by step filling out our financial aid, those workshops were definitely my favorite.”
Vivian: (17:25 – 17:40) “I’ve gone to tutoring, I’ve gone to Care, I’ve received academic coaching. I’ve also gone to some of their student success workshops which were really helpful for me.”
Cris and Jasmine were led to pursue these resources
after TRIO sent them an e-mail to apply for the Pell Grant.
Cris: (00:32-00:43) "TRIO sent me an email to apply so I immediately applied and I was able to get in because of my financial status so that helps out a lot.”
Jasmine: "I received an e-mail from TRIO saying (“You are receiving this because you are a recipient of the Pell Grant”) I was really excited about that and I applied..”
